The Petitioner intends to argue this Petition in person. However, considering the nature of proceedings, we are of the opinion that he should appoint an Advocate. However, he has given certain reasons as to why he could not appoint an Advocate. We are of the opinion that Ms. Parisha M. Shah, Solicitor, be appointed as Amicus Curiae to assist the Court in the adjudication of the present proceedings. In addition to the submission which the learned Amicus will make, we are also open to hearing the Petitioner, if he intends to make any additional submissions.

Copy of the Petition be served on the Respondents. Respondents are directed to file Reply Affidavit to the Petition on or before the returnable date, copy of which be served on the Petitioner.

As a constitutional provision is assailed, issue notice to the Advocate General returnable on 21st February 2024.
