The challenge in this petition is to the order made by the Collector purporting to exercise powers under Section 258 of the Maharashtra Land Revenue Code, 1966.

At least, prima-facie, this petition would lie before the learned Single Judge because the basic prayer is to quash the Collector's order dated 23 January 2024. Merely because, the consequential Writ of Mandamus has been sought to withdraw or cancel the impugned order dated 23 January 2024, the fundamental nature of the petition would not change.
