The petitioner was disqualified under Section 14(1)(g) of the Maharashtra Village Panchayats Act. She had preferred the appeal before respondent No.1. However, respondent No.1 believing the impugned order of the Collector has not granted stay to the order of the Collector. Therefore, the petitioner is before this Court.

Perusal of the impugned order of respondent No.1 reveals that he has passed the order as if decided the appeal on merit. Therefore, there shall be interim stay to the impugned order of the Collector dated 28.02.2024.

In the meantime, if the parties appear, respondent No.1 may decide the appeal on merits.
