In this case, Mr. Singh, learned counsel for National Highways Authority of India, on instructions, submits that an affidavit is intended to be placed on record on behalf of the National Highways Authority of India stating that although qua the land in question, an award is passed, it is no more required for the public purpose for which the same was sought to be acquired, as there was a diversion of the road (National Highways), and hence further steps under the acquisition of land are not being taken.

Let such affidavit be placed on record so that further appropriate orders, as the law, in this situation would mandate can be passed. The affidavit be filed on or before 7 January 2026. List the matter on 14 January 2026. 16 December 2025 Kiran Kawre

Insofar as Writ Petition No.8634 of 2024 is concerned, in this regard Mr. Singh states that the award amount has already been deposited by the National Highways Authority of India with the Special Land Acquisition Officer. The State Government is accordingly directed to place on record its reply affidavit. The possession of the land is stated to be with the petitioners. 4.
