1.
The Petitioners are seeking a direction to the Respondent - Scrutiny Committee to decide the caste claim of the Petitioners expeditiously. The caste claim of the Petitioners is referred to the Scrutiny Committee in January 2022. The counsel for the Petitioners states that the father of the Petitioners and other relatives have been granted validity certificate.
2.
We are not inclined to issue a direction to dispose of the pending claims without reference to the pendency as there could be various such applicants with identical or even more urgent causes waiting for adjudication. Once such an ad-hoc direction is issued for out of turn Pallavi 1/2
18-WP-9323-2024.odt hearing, because a petition is filed, it will prompt all others to seek such directions and it will be not feasible to expedite all cases. 3.
According to us, appropriate course action will be to grant liberty to the Petitioners to approach the Scrutiny Committee for a prayer to take up the Petitioners claim on priority basis making out an urgency. The Scrutiny Committee will decide this application within a period of three weeks and if it decides to give out of turn hearing will give reasons even for rejection and proceed accordingly. 4.
Writ Petition is disposed of.
