The above Writ Petition is filed seeking a direction to Respondent No.1 to decide all 523 applications in respect of land forming part of the order dated 16th June, 2005 issued by Respondent No.3. Out of these 523 applications, the Petitioners have filed one joint application for an inquiry into whether there is a violation of the provisions of the Bombay Tenancy and Agricultural Lands Act, 1948.

Since this is the limited relief sought in the above Writ Petition, we direct Respondent No.1 and/or Respondent No.2 to decide the joint application filed by the Petitioners before them, as expeditiously as possible, and in any event within a period of four weeks from today. 3.

We make it clear that if Respondent No.1 and/or Respondent No.2 want to decide all the other applications as well, they are free to do so. 4.

The above Writ Petition is accordingly disposed of. No order as to costs.

It is needless to clarify that we have not touched the merits of the matter which shall be decided by the Collector when he hears the application filed by the Petitioners.
