The respondent no.1 was elected as Gram Panchayat Member for a period of 2020 to 2025. Subsequently, she was also elected as Sarpanch. The petitioner disputed before the District Collector under the provisions of Maharashtra Village Panchayat Act seeking disqualification of the respondent no.1. The respondent no.1 was disqualified under the orders of the District Collector.

The respondent no.1 challenged the disqualification before the Additional Commissioner. The Additional Commissioner allowed the appeal and restored respondent no.1 as Member of the village panchayat as also Sarpanch. As against this, the present Writ Petition is filed. 3.

The term of the Village Panchayat is no more in existence. As such, the Writ Petition is dismissed as infructuous.
