Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that by the impugned order the amount of maintenance granted to the children at the time of final disposal of the marriage petition has been enhanced to Rs.5000/- each. He submits that as per the impugned order the petitioner is directed to pay the enhanced amount from the date of the interim maintenance order dated 20th November 2009.

Learned counsel for the petitioner on instructions submits that the petitioner is agreeable to pay the enhanced amount from the date of application for enhancement i.e. from 12th August 2011. He further by RAJESHWARI RAMESH PILLAI Date:

36-WPST-11570-2024.docx submits that if the enhanced amount is calculated from the date of the application till the date of the sons attaining majority, the arrears would be approximately Rs. 6,00,000/-. He further submits that out of the total arrears the petitioner shall pay an amount of Rs. 4,00,000/- within eight weeks from today.

He further submits that he will pay Rs. 4,00,000/- (Rs.2,00,000/- to each son) by directly depositing it to their bank accounts. Statement made on behalf of the petitioner is accepted as an undertaking to this court.

Issue notice to the respondent returnable on 9th October 2024. Notice to indicate that the petition will be disposed of finally at admission stage.

In addition to court notice, learned Advocate for the petitioner to serve the respondents by private service alongwith a copy of this order and file service affidavit before the next date.
