CIVIL APPELLATE JURISDICTION WRIT PETITION NO.11063 OF 2024 Kailas Laxman Gawade ... Petitioner

Versus

The State of Maharashtra & Ors.

... Respondents Mr. Sachin Deokar for the Petitioner Mr. Kedar Dighe, Addl. G.P a/w Mrs. S. S. Bhende, A.G.P for the Respondent-State CORAM : REVATI MOHITE DERE & DR. NEELA GOKHALE, JJ.

THURSDAY, 3 rd JULY 2025 P.C :

Heard learned counsel for the parties.

By this petition, the only relief sought by the petitioner is a direction to the respondent No.4 to decide the petitioner's application dated 11th January 2024, expeditiously and preferably within a period of four weeks. 1/3

The petitioner is essentially aggrieved by an entry which indicates that 20 Ares are required for Muslim Cremation Ground from cultivation column in respect of Gat No. 1161/1/A. Learned counsel for the petitioner states that the petitioner is infact, cultivating the said land and, therefore, contends that the respondents ought to delete the said entry from the cultivation column.

Considering that the petitioner's representation/application dated 11th January 2024 is pending before the respondent No.4, we do not wish to go into the merits of the said application.

Suffice it to state that respondent No.4 is directed to decide the petitioner's representation/application dated 11th January 2024, as expeditiously as possible and, in any case, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

2/3

Petition stands disposed of accordingly.

The learned A.G.P to communicate this order to the concerned officer to enable him to take appropriate steps. All concerned to act on the authenticated copy of this order.

DR. NEELA GOKHALE, J. REVATI MOHITE DERE, J. 3/3
