1] The petitioner is aggrieved by the communication dated 30/08/2024 issued by the Tahasildar of Hatkanangale, District Kolhapur by which the petitioner has been called upon to pay an amount of Rs 11,81,29,097/- as arrears under the Maharashtra Land Revenue Code, 1966. The demand is based on the premise that there has been illegal excavation of minor minerals without due permission. Against the said demand, the petitioner on 09/09/2024 had approached the Collector and made a representation pointing out that such demand is unwarranted. This representation is still pending. 2] In the aforesaid facts, it is directed that the respondent no.2 shall consider the representation dated 09/09/2024 and after hearing the petitioner decide the same within a period of three weeks of receiving BDP-SPS 1/2

2 29 WP-14348-2024.doc copy of this order. Till such time the representation is decided, notice dated 30/08/2024 shall not be executed. Needless to state that if the petitioner is aggrieved by the outcome of such consideration he is free to seek appropriate legal redress.
