1] The petitioner is aggrieved by the communication dated 30/08/2024 issued by the Tahasildar of Hatkanangale, District Kolhapur by which the petitioner has been called upon to pay an amount of Rs 8,55,01,042/- under the Maharashtra Land Revenue Code, 1966. The demand is based on the premise that there has been illegal excavation of minor minerals without due permission. Against the said demand, the petitioner had approached the Collector by making representations on 09/09/2024 and 11/09/2024 pointing out that such demand is unwarranted. These representations are still pending. 2] In the aforesaid facts, it is directed that the respondent no.2 shall consider the representations dated 09/09/2024 and 11/09/2024 and after hearing the petitioner decide the same within a period of three weeks of receiving copy of this order. 2 30 WP-14501-2024.doc representations are decided, notice dated 30/08/2024 shall not be executed. Needless to state that if the petitioner is aggrieved by the outcome of such consideration he is free to seek appropriate legal redress.
