Today the matter was moved with the urgency being that on 9th November 2024 the votes for the election to the National Federation of Blind, Maharashtra would be counted and if the results are declared, grave prejudice would be caused to the Petitioners as the Petitioners have impugned the very election process.

Issue notice to Respondents Nos. 1 to 4, returnable on 21st November 2024. Learned AGP waives service on behalf of Respondent No. 5-State.

However, we find that the counting of votes can proceed on 9th November 2024. However, until the next date of hearing, the results of the election shall not be declared.

Let the results of the election and the votes cast shall be kept and secured in separate sealed covers, as also the entire electoral record shall be kept sealed separately.
