Heard Shri Sawant, learned Senior Advocate for the petitioner, learned AGP and Shri Limaye, learned counsel for the respondent-Thane Municipal Corporation.

Learned AGP on instructions from the Tahsildar, Thane submitted that the application dated 15th February, 2026 shall be decided within a period of six weeks from the date of communication of this Order. The petitioner to remain present along with a copy of this Order on 27th April, 2026 at 11.00 a.m. in the office of the Tahsildar, Thane. The application to be decided within six weeks on its own merits and in accordance with law. Amk 1/2

So far as the contention of the petitioner that the Thane Municipal Corporation is unnecessary charging property tax which is concerned, liberty is granted to the petitioner to make an appropriate application to the competent authority of Thane Municipal Corporation raising such grievance within a period of two weeks from today. If such an application is made, the competent authority, Thane Municipal Corporation shall decide the application raising the grievance about unlawful charging of property tax within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of such application.

Keeping all contentions open, the petition is disposed of. 5.
