The only prayer made in the writ petition is for a direction to be issued to the State Government through its Department of Revenue and Forest to decide the proceedings filed by the petitioner on 2nd January 2024. In the said proceedings the petitioner has raised a challenge to the order dated 13th February 2023 passed by the Additional Commissioner, Konkan Division.

The learned Additional Government Pleader, on instructions, submits that the next date of the proceedings before the State Government is 16th January 2025.

In view of the aforesaid, the following directions would serve the ends of justice :- (a) The State Government shall consider the petitioner's prayer for grant of interim relief on the next date of the proceedings which is 16th January 2025.

(b) The said application be decided within a period of four weeks from that date after hearing all parties and in accordance with law.
(c) Any party aggrieved by an order passed on the said application is free to take appropriate legal recourse in accordance with law.

Keeping all points on merits open, the writ petition is disposed of with aforesaid directions.
