The Petitioner has been permitted to appear in person. The name of the Petitioner was called out in the open Court. The Petitioner is not present either in the Court hall or through the virtual mode.

On the last date, i.e., 11th March, 2025, we had heard the Petitioner and passed the following order :

1. The Petitioner desires to challenge his termination dated 10.1.2023 before the University and College Tribunal, Bombay University. He submits that the Presiding Officer on the Tribunal has retired in October, 2024. He therefore, prays that either a new Presiding Officer be appointed or charge may be handed over to the University and College Tribunal attached to the Savitribai Gauri Gaekwad

2. The learned AGP submits that she will take instructions from the concerned department and make a statement within 2 weeks.

3. List this Petition on 1st April, 2025 for disposal. 3.

The learned AGP places on record a photostat copy of the notice dated 21st April, 2025 published by the University and College Tribunal, Mumbai indicating that retired Justice Shrikant D. Kulkarni has been handed over the additional charge of the Mumbai Tribunal. The said copy is taken on record and marked as ' X ' for identification.

Considering the above, this Petition is disposed off. 5.

While parting with this matter, we deem it appropriate to record that we expect the State Government to initiate steps to appoint a regular presiding officer over the University and College Tribunal at Mumbai, within 90 days.
