Learned counsel for the appellant has tendered the decision of the Hon'ble Apex Court in the case of K.C. Ninan V/s. Kerala State Electricity Board and Others1 and the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (Electricity Supply Code and Standards of Performance of Distribution Licensees including Power Quality) Regulations, 2021.

Learned counsel for the respondent relies upon regulation no. 12.5 of 2021, of the said Regulations of 2021 and paragraphs nos. 44, 57 and 58 of the Hon'ble Apex Court's decision, to support her 1 2023 SCC OnLine SC 663 Page no. 1 of 2

39-ao-861-2024-ia-15276-2024.doc submissions that in case of default in payment of electricity charges for one account, the electricity company is empowered to transfer the due amount from one account to another electricity account of the same consumer irrespective of the connection being for two different premises.
