The above Contempt Petition is filed alleging contempt of the order passed by a Division Bench of this Court on 14th February 2023.

By the said order, Respondent No.3 was directed to send the necessary report to Respondent No.1 within 4 weeks from the date of the said order, and thereafter, Respondent No.1 (State of Maharashtra, through Minister of State, Department of Revenue) was directed to decide the pending Revision Application No.2315 of 2017 within 4 weeks from the date of receipt of the said report from Respondent No.3.

This Contempt Petition has been lodged/filed on 6th March 2024 alleging that neither of the abovementioned compliances have been done.

Mr. Patel, the Learned Addl. GP appearing on behalf of the Respondents, firstly apologised for the delay in deciding the Revision Application filed by the Petitioners and which is pending before Respondent No.1. He submitted that there was a delay in filing the report, as directed by the order dated 14th February 2023 and, hence the present delay. He submitted that the report has now been forwarded by Respondent No.3 on 14th June 2024 and the hearing of the said Revision Application has also been fixed on 15th July 2024.

Considering the statements made by Mr. Patel, we direct that Revision Application No.2315 of 2017 filed by the Petitioners herein before Respondent No.1 (State of Maharashtra, through Minister of State, Department of Revenue) shall be decided as expeditiously as possible and in any event within a period of 6 weeks from today. 6.
To ensure that there is full compliance, we do not dispose of the Contempt Petition today and place it on board for reporting compliance on 22nd August 2024. It is on that date, depending on whether compliance is done or not, we will pass further orders in the Contempt Petition.
