This is a Petition under Section 29-A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seeking an extension of mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal, which expired way back on January 29, 2024. 2.
It is seen from the record that the Learned Arbitrator passed an Order on November 26, 2024 highlighting the fact that the mandate of the arbitral tribunal had expired. The claimant undertook to file an application and hence filed this Petition.

Having regard the material on record and the request made and taking into account the stage at which the Arbitral proceedings are placed, this Petition is finally disposed of extending the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal for a period of six months i.e. until August 9, 2025. by AARTI GAJANAN PALKAR Date:

This Court is refraining from getting the facet of costs at this stage, leaving it open to the Learned Arbitrator to determine what costs would be appropriate should the need arise.
