This is a Petition filed under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 for extension of the mandate of the Tribunal. There is no opposition to this application. I am informed that this is the first application for extension. The arbitration proceedings are at the stage of recording evidence of the Respondent's first witness. Thus, I am satisfied that there is sufficient progress in the arbitration proceedings.

Given the above, I deem it fit and in the interest of justice to allow the present Petition in terms of prayer clause (a) which reads thus: Shubham 1/2

That this Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to extend the time for completion of arbitration proceedings to adjudicate the dispute between Petitioner and Respondent arising out of agreement dated 22/06/2007 entered into between petitioner and respondent, by a period of 12 months.;" 3.

It is made clear that extended time to commence from the date on which a copy of this order is uploaded.

Petition is accordingly disposed of.
