This Petition is filed under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996 for an extension of time to complete the arbitral mandate.

There is no opposition to this Petition being allowed. I am informed that the arbitral proceedings are at the stage of pronouncement of the Award. It is, thus, that the time is sought for.

I find sufficient cause has been made out for the grant of an extension of time, however, since the arbitral proceedings are at the stage of pronouncement of the Award.

Hence, I am inclined to allow the Arbitration Petition in terms of prayer clause (a), which reads thus:

"(a) to extend the time period for concluding the Abitral Proceedings pending between the parties herein before the Arbitral Tribunal of Learned Sole Arbitrator, Shri. Sadashiv Deshmukh for a period of 6 months or for such time as the Hon'ble Court may deem fit in the facts and circumstances of the present case, to enable the Arbitral Tribunal of Learned Sole Arbitrator, Shri Saddashiv Deshmukh to make and pass the Arbitral Award."

It is made clear that the period of six months to complete the mandate of the Tribunal shall commence from the date on which a copy of this order is uploaded.

The Petition is accordingly disposed of.
