In this writ petition, the petitioner inter alia seeks a direction to respondent No.3 to defreeze the bank account of the petitioner.

It is the case of the petitioner that the bank account of the petitioner has been frozen by the Branch Manager without order from any competent authority.

Learned Government Pleader for the respondent Nos.1 and 2/State submits that writ petition against the private bank is not maintainable as the same does not perform any public duties.

In support of aforesaid submission reliance has been placed on the decision of the S. Shobha Vs. Muthoot Finance Ltd., reported in 2025 SCC OnLine SC 177.

In view of aforesaid submission, learned counsel for the petitioner prays for adjournment in order to enable him to
