The challenge to the order dated 7.8.2024 is not pressed. That being so, the petition stands disposed of to that effect. 3.

As regards the other claim of the petitioner, in our opinion, same can be taken care of by the employer-respondent in view of the judgment in case of K. Nirmala and others V/s. Canara Bank and another reported in AIR Online 2024 SC 610. That being so, we direct the petitioner to appear before the employer with his request on 3.2.2025. Such claim of the petitioner shall be decided as expeditiously as possible and in any case within six weeks from the date of appearance of the petitioner.
