The order dated 19/01/2023 passed by the Controlling Authority and Judge, Labour Court, Amravati under the provisions of the Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972, whereby the petitioners are directed to pay the respondent the amount of gratuity to the tune of Rupees Twenty Lakhs along with interest @ 10%, is under challenge in this writ petition. The challenge is on the ground that the petitioner is not entitled for the amount of gratuity more than Rs.14,00,000/-.

In that view of the matter, issue notice for final disposal to the respondent, returnable on 19/06/2024. 4.
The petitioners are permitted to serve the respondent by private mode, in addition to regular mode of service, including service on the lawyer appearing before the trial Court and file affidavit of service by next date, failing which the petitioner shall deposit costs of
2 05-WP2197-2024 Rupees Five Hundred with High Court Legal Services Sub-Committee, Nagpur.

The learned counsel for the petitioner, at this stage, pressing for interim relief.

Accordingly, ad-interim relief in terms of prayer clause (ii) subject to deposit of Rupees Fourteen Lakhs in this Court within three weeks from today.

The office objections, if any, be removed before the returnable date.
