It is the case of the petitioners that they have purchased the land which was subjected to acquisition by the respondent-Western Coalfields Ltd.

A suit that was filed questioning the said sale-deed was found to be the basis for not considering the claim of the petitioners for grant of employment as Project Affected Person. The said suit was dismissed and as such the petitioners' claim for employment needs to be entertained by the respondent.

Issue notice to the respondents for final disposal of the petition, returnable on 07/10/2024.
