DATE : 21.01.2026 Heard Mr. Ram D. Karode, learned counsel for the petitioner. He submits that the petitioner has approached this Court seeking a direction to the respondents to consider his candidature under the unreserved category by permitting migration from the reserved category to the general category. He has vehemently argued in support of the aforesaid prayer and the grounds raised therein.

However, the issue involved in the present writ petition is no more res integra in view of the judgment of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in the case of Union of India & Ors. Vs. Sajib Roy (AIR 2025 SC 4158).

In view of the above and the conclusions recorded by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in paragraphs 32 and 33 of the aforesaid judgment, the prayer made by the petitioner in the present writ petition cannot be granted.
