Mr Dhargalkar, learned counsel for the petitioner by inviting our attention to the Wood Based Industries (Establishment and Regulation) Guidelines, 2016 and specifically Clause 8(i) thereof submits that renewal of Wood Based Industries license cannot be granted without prior approval of the State Level Committee.

2. Ms Mordekar, learned Addl. Govt. Advocate submits that in the present case renewal of the license of the wood based industry run by the respondent no. 8 was granted on 31.1.2025 and the license is now valid till 31.3.2026. She further submits that in view of an Office 18th March, 2025

WP 551 of 2024 Memorandum issued by the State Government, it is not necessary to place the proposal for renewal of the license before the State Level Committee. She further states notwithstanding aforesaid, the application for renewal of the Unit of the respondent no. 8 would be placed before the State Level Committee in its next meeting for seeking post facto approval.

3. To enable Office Memorandum to be placed on record, stand over to 1.4.2025.
