1.

This is an application that is traceable to invocation of this Court's powers under Section 29-A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 ("the Act").

2.

It is seen from the record that by an order dated July 19, 2023, the Learned Arbitrator had recorded that the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal would expire on August 13, 2023. The Arbitral Tribunal even pointed the parties to the provisions of Section 29-A of the Act, and stated that if the February 3, 2025

10-IA-1287-2025 copy.docx parties were to obtain an extension from the High Court, they may inform the tribunal accordingly, and therefore, suspended further proceedings. 3.

This Application has been filed only on March 20, 2024, and the Application has finally come up for hearing today. 4.

Taking into account the circumstances in which the proceedings were placed and that the mandate had been expired long ago, purely as an indulgence, despite the delay in filing the Application, taking into account the stage at which proceedings were, to ensure that the ends of justice are served, the mandate of the arbitral tribunal is hereby extended by a period of twelve months from today, i.e., until February 2, 2026. 5.

It is hoped that the parties will co-operate with the Learned Arbitrator and that the Learned Arbitrator will make time to conclude the proceedings and pass the final award within such extended mandate. 6.

All actions required to be taken pursuant to this order, shall be taken upon receipt of a downloaded copy as available on this Court's website. [ SOMASEKHAR SUNDARESAN, J.] February 3, 2025 Shraddha
