The applicants have moved this Court seeking to quash the complaint presented by the respondent No. 2 bearing Crime No. 146 of 2024 for the offences punishable under Sections 498-A, 323, 504 and 506 read with 34 of the Indian Penal Code registered with the Satara Police Station, Dist. Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. 2.

Raising an exception to the same, present proceeding has been presented under Section 528 of the BNSS / 482 of the CrPC.

During the pendency of this proceedings, the parties were directed to explore the possibility of an amicable settlement through mediation by order dated 18.12.2024. The mediation report has been submitted on 31.01.2025 and the same is taken on record and marked as "X" for identification.

Having considered the nature of the dispute, it is evident that the proceedings arise out of a matrimonial conflict. In light of the settlement arrived at between the parties and endorsed by the Mediator, further continuation of the criminal proceedings would be a futile exercise and would amount to an abuse of the process of law.

Consequently, to meet the ends of justice and to prevent the unnecessary rigmarole of a trial in a settled matter, I am inclined to exercise inherent powers in favour of the applicants. 6.

Accordingly, the Criminal Application No. 1854 of 2024 stands allowed in terms of prayer Clause (B) . 7.

The impugned complaint i.e. Crime No. 146 of 2024 for

-3the offences punishable under Sections 498-A, 323, 504 and 506 read with 34 of the Indian Penal Code registered with the Satara Police Station, Dist. Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, is hereby quashed and set aside.

Resultantly, pending criminal application also stands disposed of.
