Advocate Ms. Shilpa D. Magre, mentioned that the matter has been handed over to her and she submitted that Advocate Mr. Vijay Patil would argue the matter and she sought accommodation on the ground of his ill health. Advocate Mr. Vijay Patil had argued the matter before this Court almost 40 minutes earlier and still the statement was made that he is not feeling well. We kept back the matter and asked her to get the Advocate. Then Advocate Mr. Akshay Dhore appears, who is the Advocate on record. Still he does not show readiness to argue the matter today itself and seeks accommodation stating that Advocate Mr. Vijay Patil will argue the matter on the next date. This kind of statements are absolutely not proper. Such practice will have to be deprecated. Advocates cannot take the Courts for a
69 appln.2695.24.odt ride to make any submission to seek adjournment. In fact, we are inclined to dismiss the matter when such an attitude is shown. However, the client should not suffer because of all the things, which have been acted by the Advocates. We adjourn the matter subject to deposit of costs of Rs.5,000/- to be paid by the Advocate from his pocket to the High Court Legal Services Authority within a period of one week.
Place the matter for further consideration on 7th April, 2025. [ SANJAY A. DESHMUKH, J. ] [ SMT. VIBHA KANKANWADI, J. ] nga
