Having regard to the grievance of the Petitioner and the affidavit filed by the Superintendent of Thane Central Prison, Thane, we vide order dated 14th November 2024, had directed the Secretary, D.L.S.A., Thane, to visit the Thane Central Jail and submit a report to this Court with respect to the grievances made by the Petitioner.

Pursuant thereto, the Secretary, D.L.S.A., Thane has submitted his report to this Court in a sealed envelope. The said N.S. Kamble Page 1 of 3

envelope is opened. We have perused the report. 3.

Apart from the Petitioner, as directed, the Secretary, D.L.S.A. interacted with several other inmates. It appears that apart from Petitioner, no other person had made any grievance as alleged by the Petitioner, except for the fact, that due to inadequate police escort, the prisoners are not taken on dates before the trial Court and for medical treatment. 4.

It appears from the report that, in one case a prisoner suffering from psoriasis is not getting medical treatment for psoriasis, although the prisoner gets medicine for blood pressure and sugar.

The grievance of the Petitioner is of overcharging in jail i.e. over the MRP. The same is not borne out by the Report of the Secretary, DLSA, Thane.

Accordingly, nothing survives for further consideration in the Petition. The Petition stands disposed of N.S. Kamble Page 2 of 3
