(1) The Application of Petitioner for parole leave has been rejected by the competent Authority by its Order dated 18th July, 2023, as per the provisions of Rule 4(4)(5) of Maharashtra Prisons (Bombay Furlough And Parole) Rules, 1959, predominantly on the ground of adverse police report. (2) The Circular issued by the Additional Director General and Inspector General of Prisons dated 17th August 2022, as of today is in force. We therefore direct the Competent Authority to file its reply to the Petition within a period of two weeks from today.

(3) Petitioner is permitted to circulate Petition before Vacation Bench.
