The grievance raised by the convict C-8682 Paras Kamlesh Pandya stand redressed, as the State Government by passing an order on 23.08.2024 has categorized him in Category 2(B) of the Guidelines dated 15.03.2010, which would warrant that he shall undergo imprisonment of 22 years including the period of remission.

The order passed by the State Government dated 23.08.2024 is placed before us and copy of the same is also handed over to Mr. Garg, who represent the Petitioner. Chaitanya

According to the learned A.P.P. Dr. Takalkar, who has produced before us a chart reflecting the sentence undergone by the convict as on 31.07.2024 he has undergone 18 years 01 month 03 days of imprisonment including the remission and the actual imprisonment undergone by the convict is 11 years 02 months and 10 days.

Undisputedly, upon completion of 22 years of imprisonment including the remission and upon his categorization, he shall be entitled to be released from prison for having undergone the entire sentence imposed upon him in Sessions Case No. 52 of 2005.

Let the decision taken by the State Government be communicated to the Convict through the Superintendent, Nashik Road Central Prison.

The Writ Petition stand disposed off.

We would like to express our appreciation to the Advocate Mr. Kartik Garg, who has assisted this Court effectively in espousing the cause of the Petitioner. We direct the High Court Legal Services Committee, to make payment of his legal remuneration due and payable to him, within a period of six weeks from today.
