Heard the learned Counsel for the parties.

This petition is filed through Jail for expedite hearing of Sessions Case No.440 of 2016 arising out of CR No.528 of 2016 registered with DN Nagar Police Station.

The learned Counsel for the petitioner, on instructions, submits that the evidence of the prosecution witnesses is over and the statement of the accused under Section 313 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 ("the Code") has been recorded. 4.

The learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that, thereafter there has not been any progress in the proceeding. 1/2

As the statement under Section 313 has been recorded and the accused has been in custody since 2016, the learned Sessions Judge, seized with Sessions Case No.440 of 2016, is requested to hear and decide the Sessions case as expeditiously as possible, and, preferably, within a period of four months from the date of the communication of this order.

The petition stands disposed.

In view of disposal of the petition, IA/68/2025 also stands disposed.
