By this petition, the petitioner seeks grant of maximum remission.

Mr. Satpute, learned APP on instructions states that the petitioner has been categorized under Rule 4(e) of Annexure I of the Guidelines for Premature Release under the 14 year rule of prisoners serving life sentences after 18th December 1978 dated 11th April 2008 and as per the said categorization the petitioner is required to undergo imprisonment of 26 years with remission.

He states that the petitioner has undergone imprisonment of 23 years 4 years and few days.

Since learned counsel for the petitioner has not challenged the categorization of the petitioner, no ground is made out for releasing the petitioner prior to 26 years.

Petition is accordingly disposed of.

We are informed that the petitioner is presently lodged in open Prison.

7.

Needless to state that after completion of his term, the petitioner be released.
