In response to order dated 17.12.2025, the Director General of Police, Maharashtra State has reconstituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) comprising of; (i) Shri Anup Kumar Singh, IPS, Principal Secretary, Home Department, Mantralaya, Mumbai, (ii) Mr. Rajesh Pradhan, Special Inspector General of Police, (iii) Mr. Mohit Garg, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mumbai and (iv) Mr. Umesh Mane Patil, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mira Bhayandar - Vasai Virar Police Commissionarate. They are all

As regards status of investigation, learned A.P.P. submits that the SIT has commenced the detail scrutiny, review and further investigation of various cases. The affidavit, however, is silent as regards collection of evidence. Thus, it appears that effective investigation has not yet commenced. We expect the SIT to collect evidence and file final report, as expeditiously as possible, the details of which shall be placed before us on the next date. 3.
