Learned A.P.P. has tendered across the bar status report in a sealed envelope. It is opened in the Court. It appears that the Special Investigating Team ("SIT") has commenced the investigation in respect of role played by the Central Registrar and the Police officials. Statements of certain officers have been recorded. 2.
Learned Amicus Curiae has apprised us of the development in the investigation where additional evidence is collected against the persons responsible for the alleged illegalities attracting offences under the provisions of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 and other provisions.

Learned Amicus submits that copy of the report has been given to him by the SIT, which it shall continue to do so till filing the final report.

The status report filed before us shall be kept in the sealed envelope. SIT shall complete investigation as expeditiously as possible and preferably by 30.04.2026.
