Heard Mr. J.D. Bastian, learned advocate holding for Mr. Prakash Naidu, learned advocate for the applicant/ appellant and Mr. P. K. Sathianathan, learned advocate for the respondent/CBI.

This is an application for relaxation of condition no. 7(ii) of bail granted pursuant to the order dated 18.11.2024. 3.

It is stated that applicant - Maniklal Paul, who is resident of the State of West Bengal, is unable to get the surety. It is submitted that instead of surety, the applicant be released on depositing cash security. It is submitted that the applicant has retired from service and now settled at his native place in the State of West Bengal.

Learned advocate for the respondent/CBI submits that in order to secure the presence of applicant - Maniklal Paul, he be directed to deposit the cash security of Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees One lakh only)

In my view, the submission made by the learned advocate for the respondent/CBI is just and proper. 6.

Accordingly, the condition no.7(ii) of the order dated 18.11.2024, related to applicant - Maniklal Paul (in Criminal Appeal No. 491/2024), is modified.

Applicant/appellant - Maniklal Paul be released on his executing PR bond in the sum of Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees One lakh only) with cash security of Rs. Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees One lakh only) before the trial Court. 8.

The application is allowed and disposed of in the aforesaid terms.

Prayer for grant of hamdast is granted.
