On the last occasion, i.e., on 16th October 2024, it was not submitted before this court that the parties have settled the matter and the quashing is sought on the ground of consent between the parties. If the matter is for quashing by consent, then the complainant will have to be heard. Today nobody is representing the Respondent No.2. The Learned Counsel for the Applicants submitted that he is pressing for the relief of quashing of the proceedings on the ground of consent.

Based on this statement, we are issuing notice to the Respondent No.2. Ideally, if it is a quashing by consent petition, then the respondent no.2 on her own should have remained present before the court. Be that as it may, issue notice to the respondent no.2, returnable on 26th February 2025.
