Having argued for some time and when this Court was inclined to dismiss the application, the learned counsel for the applicant, on instructions, sought permission to withdraw the same. However, the learned counsel for the applicant submitted that this Court may consider expediting the trial, since the charge has been framed on 04.09.2023. 2.

In view of the above, the application is dismissed as withdrawn. 3.

This Court finds from the copy of chargesheet annexed to the application that the chargesheet includes a list of 15 witnesses proposed to be examined during the course of trial. Practically speaking, it is found that all the witnesses are usually not examined and the prosecution may end up examining fewer witnesses. Therefore, direction can be issued for time bound completion of trial.

In view of the above, the trial Court is directed to expedite the trial and to complete the same within one year from today. If the trial is not completed within the stipulated period of time and the delay is not attributable to the applicant, he would be at liberty to renew his prayer for bail.
