After having argued for some time and when this Court was inclined to dismiss the application, the learned counsel for the applicant, on instructions, sought permission to withdraw the present application. It was submitted that considering the fact that the chargesheet shows only 18 witnesses, of whom few witnesses only would be examined by the prosecution, this Court may consider expediting the trial. 2.

In view of the above, the application is dismissed as withdrawn. 3.

However, the concerned Court is directed to expedite the trial proceedings. An endeavour shall be made to complete the trial as early as possible and in any case, within a period of one year from today. 4.

In the event the trial is not completed within the stipulated period of time and the delay is not attributable to the applicant, liberty is reserved for the applicant for renew his prayer.
