IN THE HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT BOMBAY

CRIMINAL APPELLATE JURISDICTION BAIL APPLICATION NO.524 OF 2024 Leo Sebastian Santhiyagu ...

Applicant Vs.

State of Maharashtra ...

Respondent Ms. Sonia Santis i/b. Mr. Umar Kazi for Applicant. Mr. Mayur S. Sonawane, APP for Respondent-State. CORAM : MANISH PITALE, J.

DATE : NOVEMBER 18, 2024 P.C. :

.

After having argued for some time, Ms. Santis, learned counsel for the applicant submits that there are only three witnesses to be examined in the present case, of whom, according to her instructions, the first informant has been already examined.

2.

A perusal of the list of witnesses filed along with the charge-sheet indeed shows that there are only three witnesses, one of whom is the informant and the other two are police officers. Therefore, it is evident that the trial can be completed in an expeditious manner. 3.

In view of the above, the application is disposed of with a direction to the concerned trial Court to expedite the trial proceedings, complete the trial and render judgement, in any case, on or before 31.03.2025.

4.

If for any reason, the trial proceedings are not completed as directed, liberty is reserved for the applicant to file bail application afresh.
