Heard the learned counsel for the applicant and the learned APP for the State.

The learned counsel for the applicant submits that the applicant has been in custody since 6th June, 2014 and trial has yet not commenced.

The learned APP submits that the applicant was suffering from mental illness and was referred to psychiatric treatment. 4.

Having regard to the period of incarceration, it may be expedient to call a report from learned Additional Session Judge seized with the Sessions Case No. 205 of 2014 regarding the stage and progress of the trial and the circumstances in which the trial could not be commenced and concluded.

The Registrar, Judicial is requested to call the report and place before the Court on 15th April, 2024.
