On the earlier date of hearing, connected Bail Application No.1984 of 2024 was finally heard and stood concluded. At that stage, when the Court was about to pronounce the order, learned advocates appearing for the applicants in the present bail applications submitted that the factual matrix in the present matters is different and distinguishable from the one considered in Bail Application No.1984 of 2024. In view of this submission, the Court considered it appropriate to grant time and adjourned these matters for today to afford fair opportunity of hearing.

When these matters were called out in the first session today, none appeared for the applicants. The matters were again kept back and called out in the second session; however, even during the second call, learned advocates for the applicants failed to remain present or to make any representation. This conduct indicates that the applicants are not interested in prosecuting these bail applications. It is well settled that a party seeking discretionary relief like bail must diligently pursue the proceedings. In the absence of any representation despite adequate opportunity, no fruitful purpose would be served in adjourning the matters further.

In view of the above, Bail Application No.2952 of 2024 and Bail Application No.4500 of 2024 stand dismissed for want of prosecution.
