In this application, it is found that offences under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 are registered against the applicant. Hence, the victim will have to be joined as party. Leave is granted to amend the application to add the victim as party respondent No.2, by appropriately concealing her identity, within one week from today.

Thereupon, issue notice to respondent No.2, returnable on 23rd September 2024 (High on Board).

The respondent No.2 shall be served through the Investigating Officer, for which purpose the applicant shall provide an additional set of papers to the Investigating Officer.

It is specifically mentioned on behalf of the applicant that he has remained behind bars for more than seven years and that presently, 13 witnesses have been examined.
