CORAM : MANISH PITALE, J.
DATE : JANUARY 16, 2025 P.C. :
.
After having argued for some time and when this Court was not inclined to grant relief, Mr. Bhavar, learned counsel for the applicant sought permission to withdraw the application. At the same time, this Court finds that investigation is complete and charge-sheet is filed. 2.
In the charge-sheet, list of only 14 witnesses is given and in practical terms, fewer witnesses may be examined, thereby indicating that the trial itself can be completed within a reasonable period of time. Therefore, appropriate directions are warranted in the present case. 3.
The application is dismissed as withdrawn.
4.
The concerned trial Court is directed to frame charge at the earliest and to proceed with the trial expeditiously and complete the same within a period of one year from today.
5.
If there is no substantial progress in the trial in six months' period, the applicant would be entitled to apply for bail afresh, provided the delay is not attributable to the applicant.
