The applicant is seeking anticipatory bail in connection with C.R. No. 11 of 2014 registered at Kagal Police Station, Kolhapur on 08/01/2024 under sections 34 and 420 of the Indian Penal Code.

The FIR is lodged by one Umesh Shelke. He received a phone call by a unknown lady mentioning that the present applicant was making Indian currency notes and if a particular
amount is given, he gave thrice of that amount. Believing this representation, the informant went to the Farm house of the applicant at Belavale, Taluka Kagal, District Kolhapur. The informant had taken Rs. 1 lakh. The person present there gave him Rs. 3 lakhs in three packets. In the meantime, police raided that place and seized those currency notes but in that packet only the first and last note was genuine in between there were blank papers. On these basis the FIR is lodged.

Learned counsel for the applicant submitted that the FIR does not indicate that the applicant was present at the spot. He had rented that particular place much earlier. He is not connected with the offence. He was not present at the scene. 4.
Learned APP submitted that the co accused has been arrested. Considering these overall circumstances, at this stage the applicant can be protected by directing him to attend the concerned police station and co-operate with the investigation. Hence the following order.
ORDER
(I) In the event of his arrest in connection with C.R. No. 11 of 2014 registered at Kagal Police Station, Kolhapur till the next date, the Applicant is directed to be released on bail on his executing P.R. bond in the sum of Rs.30,000/- (Rupees Thirty Thousand Only) with one or two sureties in the like amount.
(ii) This order shall operate till 27/03/2024 (iii) The applicant shall attend the concerned Police Station from 4/03/2024 to 07/03/2024 between 1.00p.m. to 5.00 p.m. and shall co-operate with the investigation. (iv) Stand over to 27/03/2024.
