By this application, the applicant is seeking bail in connection with CR No.837 of 2022, registered at Kasturba Marg Police Page No. 1 of 3

Chitra Sonawane. 7-ABA-2011-2024.doc Station, for the offence punishable under Sections 328, 188, 272, 273 of the IPC and Section 59 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 and Section 65(e) of the Maharashtra Prohibition Act, 1949.

The prohibited substance came to be seized from a room belonging to the co-accused.

Learned APP, on instructions, submits that investigation is nearing completion, and within a couple of weeks, the prosecution will file the charge sheet. The co-accused have already been granted anticipatory bail, and nothing remains to be recovered from the applicant, and his custodial interrogation is not warranted. Given the circumstances, and having regard to the nature of the allegations against the applicant, the present application is allowed in the following terms.

(i) In the event of the applicant's arrest in connection with CR No.837 of 2022 registered at Kasturba Marg Police Station, he shall be released on bail, on executing a PR Bond of Rs.25,000/- with one or more sureties in the like amount.

(ii) The applicant shall attend the police station as and when required.

Chitra Sonawane. 7-ABA-2011-2024.doc (iii) The applicant, himself or through any other person, shall not indulge in any activity that would tamper with the evidence or influence the witnesses.
