Heard Mr Karan Kadam, the learned Counsel representing the applicant, and Mr Amit A Palkar, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor representing the respondent/ State.

The applicant has approached this Court projecting extreme urgency in the matter for the reason that he apprehends arrest in connection with the FIR bearing CR No.742 of 2024, registered with Thane Nagar Police Station, Thane. The learned Counsel for the applicant submits that, owing to the Sessions Court's holiday on account of the "Gopal Kala", the applicant is currently unable to apply for anticipatory bail in the Sessions Court, and is therefore, seeking temporary protection from this Court until such time as the Sessions Court reopens and the applicant can formally seek anticipatory bail. 4.

This Court refrains from delving into the merits of the matter or assessing entitlement to the anticipatory bail. However, considering the possibility of applicant's arrest in connection with the aforesaid crime, it deems it prudent to provide protection for a reasonable duration. This measure addresses the contingency of the pre-arrest bail, being filed by the applicant. Hence, the following order:

ORDER

(i) The applicant is granted protection from coercive action or arrest in connection with the present crime for a period of two days starting today, i.e. 29 August 2024. The applicant, during this period, shall not engage in any behaviour that

prejudice the ongoing investigation.

(ii) The learned APP shall inform the concerned police station about this order.
