This is an application seeking to quash and set aside the charge-sheet bearing RCC No.1027 of 2024 arising out of the First Information Report No.240 of 2023 registered with Police Station Koradi district Nagpur for the offence punishable under Sections 498-A, 323 and 504 r/w 34 of the Indian Penal Code on account of settlement.

The couple got married on 14.10.2022 and after few days feeling matrimonial harassment, the informant lady started to reside separately. In the meantime, with the intervention of the relatives, the matter is amicably settled. The parties have obtained customary divorce called as 'Khula' and now residing separately. On account of settlement, the informant do not wish to prosecute the criminal case. The informant Kavita

On our query, the informant affirmed the contents of reply and gave no objection to quash the proceedings. The offence is of matrimonial nature, which is settled in between the parties. In view of that, the criminal application is allowed.

We, hereby, quash and set aside the chargesheet bearing RCC No.1027 of 2024 arising out of the First Information Report No.240 of 2023 registered with Police Station Koradi district Nagpur for the offence punishable under Sections 498-A, 323 and 504 r/w 34 of the Indian Penal Code.

Criminal application stands disposed of.
