This is an application seeking to quash the First Information Report No.726 of 2022, registered with Police Station Babhulgaon district Yavatmal, for the offence punishable under Section 498-A r/w 34 of the Indian Penal Code.

The applicants are husband and relatives of husband of informant lady. It is submitted that due to matrimonial dispute, the informant started to reside separately from the year 2017 itself. It was followed by husband filing petition for restitution. The parties have settled the dispute on which they have filed a joint petition for divorce by mutual consent. On account of differences in one time settlement amount, the divorce was not granted but later-on to harass the applicants false report is allegedly filed.
